Greenwave Aotearoa is a collaborative effort combining operational, scientific & commercial knowledge to establish native seaweed farming in New Zealand

Our Story

Founded by Dr Nigel Bradly with a vision to restore the mauri β€” life force and vitality β€” of Aotearoa New Zealand’s oceans and coastal communities, Greenwave Aotearoa is dedicated to advancing regenerative ocean farming. By combining traditional knowledge with innovative marine science, Greenwave Aotearoa cultivates scalable seaweed farming initiatives that strengthen local ecosystems, promote sustainable livelihoods, and support climate resilience.

Our team of experts includes leaders in marine biology, aquaculture, community engagement, and sustainable project management. Together, we are advancing a new model for ocean farming that creates opportunities for economic development while ensuring the health and restoration of our marine environments. Greenwave Aotearoa is committed to practical, impactful projects and partnerships that enhance biodiversity, contribute to blue carbon solutions, and empower communities through knowledge-sharing and sustainable development.

β€œWe know that domestically there is an eagerness to adopt practical ways to diversify the mussel and oyster farming industries and there is significant interest in seaweed farming. Regenerative ocean farming is emerging as an opportunity to leverage existing skill sets and aquaculture experience for positive social and environmental impact while enabling profitable business.”

Dr Nigel Bradly, EnviroStrat CEO
